Butterfly Safari


There are 1500 species of butterflies in India and atleast 10% are in the Safari Park. This is in 5 acres of land with water body and well laid out trail of 1/2 km, which take you round the Safari. At any given time of the year 15 species of butterflies can be sited and specially during Monsoon. One can site 25 varities of butterflies in very large numbers. This Safari Park is one of its kind in India and is open i,e. very natural without any closed structure. This park included interpretation center to impart knowledge to the visitors about the insects in general which constitutes about 80% of the wild life and butterfly in perticulars.

Some of the varieties found are... Common Rose, Crimson Rose, Lime Butterfly, Common Mormon, Blue Bottle, Tailed Jay, Common Jezebel, Pioneer, Small Salmon Arab, White Orange Tip, Yellow Orange Tip, Common Wanderer, Common Emigrant, Mottled Emigrant, Common Grass Yellow, Pale Grass Blue, Common Cerulean, Red Pierrot, Plain Tiger, Striped Tiger, Blue Tiger, Glassy Tiger, Common Crow, Common Evening Brown, Common Tree Brown, Common Bush Brown, Angled Castor, Common Leopard, Blue Pansy, Yellow Pansy, Lemon Pansy, Peacock Pansy, Grey Pansy, Painted Lady, Danaid Eggfly, Great Eggfly, Common Nawab, Tawny Coster etc...
