found through out India except Rajasthan, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Maharastra and Madhya Pradesh.

They eat grass, leaves, tress bark. They love being in waters and likes to eat bamboo which is the favourate food. And used in religious ceremonies in India and once a personal pocession of Indian Royals.
