Slender Loris - Nocturnal Animal
Slender loris is found in India and Srilanka in small pockets. It is found in both dense and in open forest areas. It sleeps by day, hidden among foliage or in a hole and starts its activity at dusk. It is a solitary animal. Gestation period is approximately three months. Young are nursed for a long time. These animals are hunted mostly due to superstitions.
This small nocturnal carnivores monkey is found only in Seshachalam and its surrounding areas of our state. Very rarely seen and are very few in the wild.
They are Nocturnal in habit and they feed insects, leaves, small birds, tree frogs and lizards. They are bred successfully in Zoo. This is an endangered animal.
